Description
Search engine functionalities from Visvo Inc. were applied to enterprise data in the Nexstar Web Site to make it easily and readily available to site visitors. This project involved replacing Nexstar's current search by the Visvo search engine to provide Nexstar with advanced, categorized and scalable search functionality.
A key benefit of the project was to leverage Nexstar's local presence. It enabled the use of Nexstar’s category structure using the search functionality. The search functionality provided advanced search based on category and type of content. The search engine parsed out content from the database directly and generated a categorized index. This index was then used to retrieve results based on user query. Search was performed locally on all content categories (published content, video, articles, images, etc.) and the results were displayed category wise in a way that enabled fast surfing and navigation.

Description
Client is an online travel community site operated by Travelocity. Client provides travel advice, travel deals and thousands of unbiased hotel reviews and travel photos written by real people. The site permits visitors to search reviews for vacation, dining and other travel data as well as location photos. The goal of this project was to apply a user-friendly search to allow users to reach travel data content as efficiently as possible. Users could search for information that could be matched to specific content pages (e.g., Boston Hotels page) as opposed to just returning reviews / photos that match the keywords “Boston Hotels”. The specific capabilities provided were (1) location based category search, (2) category based image search, (3) custom parsers to extract information from the Client site, (4) custom indexers to parse database dumps for categorized image search.

Client, a social media company, has the first integrated system to manage the complex interactions surrounding the sale of new and used equipment and supporting transactions for the heavy equipment industry, e.g. construction, agriculture, material handling, etc. Client uses a combination of business focused social networking and search engine software to provide a revolutionary platform for the diverse activities required to sell equipment. Client is unique in that end users, dealers and manufacturers can all use it effectively. In addition, Client provides a platform to increase collaboration and improve communication among end users, dealers and manufacturers. There is no single company that has such comprehensive coverage of the processes surrounding the sale of equipment, i.e., consignment (optional), valuation, hauling, insurance, lending, inspections etc. Competitors may address one aspect such as a listing of equipment for sale. Only Client provides the tools and processes to support the sale of high value equipment to ensure full use of the asset until a transaction is complete.

Description
The project employed application programming resources and expertise to develop a supplier portal using LAMP technology. The portal provided a single access point to manage people schedules, support easy updates to schedules and view all projects for management purposes (resources planning). Enhanced project visibility resulted in being able to show management the level of complexity and variability in the scope of currently active projects. It provided the information necessary to make tradeoff decisions on projects and not just add more and more projects to an already full plate.
